Jodie, also known as "Shift Mom" by her fire family, was born and raised in Pleasant View, Utah. She is a Wife and a Mother to three incredible children, whose sporting events and extracurricular activities fill her days with joy and excitement. Jodie loves to travel, play sports, go backpacking, hiking, and river rafting.  She also loves woodworking, gardening, and baking, and enjoys target shooting.

Her dedication and desire to help others started early on in life when she volunteered time in both Elementary school and Middle school helping assist children with special needs. After high school, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing compassionate care to patients with Alzheimer's and Dementia while simultaneously pursuing her education at Weber State University.

Becoming a stay-at-home mom was always very important to her, a role that was fulfilled a few years after getting married in 2002. However, a significant event in 2013 profoundly altered her path, when her then four-year-old daughter choked on candy. With limited skills at the time, she was able to save her during this terrifying incident. This experience solidified her desire to become more skilled for unexpected emergencies and also to fulfill a childhood dream of working in EMS. This pivotal moment led her to return to school where she earned her Emergency Medical Technician certification, followed by her Advanced EMT certification in 2016. That same year, her husband got offered a job in Oregon and her family relocated from Utah to Fall Creek. She later joined Lowell Fire in 2018, volunteering as an AEMT. She proudly completed Fire Academy and achieved her Firefighter 1 certification that same year. Currently, she is working full time with Springfield School District in behavioral along with pulling her weekly shift with Lowell. While an ongoing shoulder injury currently limits her participation in fire she continues to provide EMS services. Her commitment to serving the community and her cherished fire family remains unwavering. She finds immense joy and satisfaction in providing medical care and support to those in need.
